Today is Father’s Day and Indian Television has its fair share of fathers that have gone on to become our favourite. Let’s remember them by acknowledging their roles and the actors who played them.

Varun Badola plays Amber Sharma who is a widower and finds himself in a situation where his daughter wants him to get married after the death of her mother and she has to get on with her life and education. An interesting turn of events brings Guneet Sikka (Shwetha Tiwari) into their house and the daughter plays matchmaker.  Well fathers deserve love and this show traces a comical yet dramatic representation of father-daughter love.

Dr Shashank Gupta of Sanjeevani, Dill Mill Gaye and Sanjeevani 2 is a sauve and classy man. He is a man of few words but his one look would have things happening his way. That said, he is a loving and a protective father and to date there I do not think there is a on-screen father like him yet. Monish Behl

In this cameo yet pivotal role Sudhanshu Pandey plays Sampooran Singh the just village headman whose monetary lapse results in a love child. Though filled with guilt he teaches his son to love selflessly and be the man of the house who will shoulder responsibility and take care of his family. Though flawed the character etches a mark in the minds of the viewer.
