Happy Birthday Raju Singh!!!

The Moment you walk into his Studio that is built in his home, you are awestruck! The number of albums, the awards and the endless list of films he has been associated with only leaves you wide mouthed. It took Swati and me a good fifteen minutes to register we were in Raju Singh's House to do his interview. And each time we would get started, my eyes would fall on the wall towards the left that had pictures of all the albums and films he has been associated with and I would "Oh! You did music for this one too???" and he only smiled.

Giving us ample time to settle, Mr. Singh then sat down to talk about
Raaz-2 where he was supposed to sing Soniyo, but actually went ahead and made Sonu Nigam do it since he felt it would become a perfect come back for the singer.
His association with Mr. Javed Akhtar and the conviction with which they chose Saare Sapne Kahin Kho Gaye to be the cover song for their album despite many other peppy numbers only went on to make us realize, this man is always up for Challenges and Variety.
This is when we also learnt Sare Sapne Kahin Ho gaye was infact a song written for Silsila the Amitabh Bacchan 70's hit, but was never used. Years later Javed Akhtar picked the song up and asked Raju Singh to compose music for it.

So then, how different is it composing for Television Shows now? Today you name a hit show's music, Raju Singh is the name associated with it. Geet's Mahi went on to become a phenomenon in itself. Today Tu Hi Tu and Rabba vey is no different! And you also have Veer Shivaji and Humse Li Shapath that have powerful background music.

Recently Mr. Bacchan tweeted:

People who have worked with Raju Singh, be it Siddharth Malhotra, Gul Khan or Deeya Singh just to name a few each of them has just one thing to say. "We just have to tell him our story and he takes over from there". This definitely isn't something he has built over night! And this is surely here to stay in the years to come.

Today the 3rd of April is Mr. Singh's Birthday and we at Rangmunch.TV would like to wish him a very very Happy Birthday and hope that he continues to create melodies that will churn our hearts and soul. Thank You very much for all the encouragement and the faith you have shown in us in showcasing your work to the world around us!
