We say this because, there were times during the interview when we realized Akshay is as loving, as caring and as sensitive as his character in real life too when it comes to his better half. On the other hand, when you see the way he bonds with Barun off screen, he is a totally different person altogether with humor and fun coming into play. When we got down to talking to Akshay we realized he loves reading, is spiritual and completely grounded. His I, Me, Myself is a reflection of the clear hearted person he is in real life, and he is that man who has done everything from reporting to working behind the Camera to finally becoming an Actor. Over to him for more insights.

Rangmunch: One thing you are grateful for in life?

Akshay: People around me who love me. Everyone I have met so far, I’m grateful for that.

Rangmunch: One thing that is missing in your life at the moment?

Akshay: I guess a little more patience and lot more spirituality. I meditate whenever I find the time. I would like to take that to a different level. I thank the universe or God for whatever little I have got. I also try to find something worthy from each action or event that adds to your life.

Rangmunch: Do you take risks?

Akshay: I think so (ponders for a moment) I started out as an assistant director. Then went on to become a producer, a reporter. Leaving that I then entered into a business. Later I quit that and became an executive producer and now I have become an actor. Not that I’m not focused, it was a part of growing. But an actor always takes risk.

Rangmunch: What do you need to change about yourself?

Akshay: I need to be more focused and be less lazy.

Rangmunch: What is your biggest fear?

Akshay: I am so concerned about living life the right way that I don’t bother about fears. But there are small fears one always has and I will counter them as and when I come to them.

Rangmunch: Do you think everything happens for a reason?

Akshay: Yes, I do. I was talking about my career graph, now all that happened as I needed the experience to come to this point. I have struggled a lot and have gone through self doubt, but having said that today I am a much more evolved person and a better actor. Even in my personal life, every decision I have taken has happened for a reason.

Rangmunch: Do you forgive yourself easily?

Akshay: I take time but eventually, I do.

Rangmunch: Do you read enough?

Akshay: Yes . I love reading literature. I read Jack Kerouac, William Burroughs, Alan Kingsberg, Arthur Rimbaud (French poet). I also love Berlin, he is a philosopher. Earlier I was choosy, but now I pick anything. I can read Secret and understand what it says.

Rangmunch: Do you smile more than you frown?

Akshay: Yes , I do . I Smile (says with a big broad smile).

Rangmunch: Describe Akshay in one word or a sentence?

Akshay: A complicated person moving towards simplicity.

‘The Artist’, French, primarily silent, and in black & white, proved silence is golden by sweeping 5 Oscars for best picture, direction, Actor in a leading role, Music (original score) and costume design. 

Martin Scorsese’s ‘Hugo’, the 3D park movie swept all the technical awards for Sound editing, mixing, and visual effects besides winning Oscars for Best cinematography and art direction.

Jean Dujardin, a French actor won an Oscar for his portrayal of George Valentin in ‘The Artist’. He was clearly surprised at the win, provoking a French expletive out of him on stage while accepting his award, which he later confessed is sorry for but said it came right from his heart. He received the award from Natalie Portman.

Meryl Streep, a veteran actress, won her third Oscar for her arresting portrayal of Britain’s first female leader, Margaret Thatcher, in the movie, ‘The Iron Lady’. When her name was announced, the ever-gracious lady joked, “I had this feeling I could hear half of America going, ‘oh, come on! why her again?’” and then she shrugged slightly and added with a smile, “but whatever!”

Christopher Plummer at the ripe old age of 82, the star of ‘The Sound of Music’ forty odd years ago, finally received his long overdue Oscar as the best supporting actor for his portrayal of an ailing widower who embraces his homosexuality in the movie, ‘Beginners’. Holding his coveted golden statuette, he exclaimed that he has been rehearsing his Oscar acceptance speech since he was born. He lovingly enquired of his Oscar, ‘You’re only two years older than me, darling – Where have you been all my life?”

Octavia Spencer, wept with joy as she picked up her trophy for Best Supporting Actress for the portrayal of an outspoken maid Minny, in the movie, ‘Help’.

Octavia during her acceptance speech confessed that she was ‘freaking out’ at the win and went on to hastily and tearfully thank her family, friends, and the cast of Help. She received the Oscar from the ‘Batman’ actor Christian Bale.

Another veteran Actor Director, Woody Allen was awarded an Oscar for a third time for Best Original Screenplay for his movie, ‘Midnight in Paris'.

Woody Allen had never acknowledged the Academy Awards and the 84th Academy Awards night was no different. As was the norm, he was not present there to receive the Oscar.

Chhoti Bahu - Sawar Ke Rang Rachi, is all set to hook its audience with the amazing twist in the story line. To make the narrative interesting, new line of characters are being introduced. This twist is added to boost the already rising TRP of the show.

The story will now revolve around Radhika’s family, where in new family members will play a pivotal role. Kishwer Merchant, who is currently seen doing a cameo in Amrit Manthan, aired on Life OK, is to essay the role of Radhika’s sister.

The other new entry is of Vinay Jain, who was seen in Woh Rehne Waali Mehlon Ki. The role to be essayed by Vinay is still not revealed, but it surely going to be an interesting one that has come his way.

We hope the change in storyline helps the show to garner the desired TRP ratings in the forthcoming weeks.

Sandhya and Suraj of Diya aur Baati Hum on Star Plus continues to rule the viewers hearts and the TRP chart with a TRP rating of 5.88.

Saath Nibhana Saathiya on Star Plus for the 2nd consecutive week has garnered a TRP rating of 4.97 and manages to stay at 2nd position.

Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai on Star Plus has climbed up to 3rd position with a TRP rating of 4.42. The twist in the tale has definitely worked in the favour of the show.

Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon on Star Plus has slipped down to 4th position this week on the TRP chart with a TRP rating of 4.04.

Balika Vadhu on Colors has secured 5th position this week with a TRP rating of 3.80. Audiences seem to have loved the return of Dadisa.

CID on Sony has garnered a TRP rating of 3.78 and is on 6th position on the TRP chart.

Ek Hazaron Mein Meri Behna Hai on Star Plus has now come down to 7th position with a TRP rating of 3.69. Looks like Manvi’s cancer revelation did not go down well with the audience.

Pavitra Rishta on Zee TV has moved from 9th to 7th position on the TRP chart this week. It achieved a TRP rating of 3.49. Manav and Archana is back with a bang!

Uttaran on Colors with all the drama has managed to secure its position among the top 10 shows this week with a TRP rating of 3.40. It now stand on 8th position.

Crime Patrol of Sony Entertainment Television slipped down to 9th position on the TRP chart with a rating of 3.30.

Yeha Main Ghar Ghar Kheli has entered the top 10 shows this week. The audiences seem to enjoy the Abha Vs Albeli track as the show has garnered a TRP rating of 3.00.

 

MISSES of the Week!

This week Bade Acche Lagte Hain on Sony has missed the TOP 10 slot with a TRP rating of 2.90 followed by Sasural Genda Phool on Star Plus with a rating of 2.67. Last but not the least, Hitler Didi on Zee TV garnered a TRP rating of 2.50 and Pratigya got a rating of 2.31.

Parvaarish on Sony and Afsar Bitiya on Zee with its twists and turns have managed to entertain the audiences. While the former secured a TRP rating of 1.95, the latter got a rating of 1.90 this week.

Punarvivaah on Zee TV has got a good response on its very first week with a rating of 2.6. Audiences seem to like the matured storyline. Na Bole Tum Na Maine Kuch Kaha on Colors is slowly picking up momentum with a TRP rating of 2.05 this week.

Monish who had been essaying the role of a Doctor on the show, that is an unconventional love story between Dr. Ashutosh and Dr. Nidhi who share a huge age gap will no longer be seen on the show.

The actor himself confirmed the same on his personal Page on Facebook where he left a message for his fans saying "Well, unfortunately obviously not the news we all wanted to read....Yes, I have made an exit from KTLK on account of temporary health reasons. KTLK has and always will be special to me as will Dr. Ashutosh and I request that you'll continue to support the show in future. Do remember, a show comprises of a team and is never the efforts of a single person. Hence I am quite certain KTLK will continue to be a 'show with a difference'.

I wanted to share this with you'll earlier, however, I felt it was Sony's prerogative to officially make the announcement and as the same has now been announced on tellychakkar as well as on twittter, I am also confirming the same.

Thank you so much for all your love, support, suggestions etc. throughout my presence on the show and I will continue to post as and when possible to keep in touch with you'll."

We wish the actor a speedy recovery and hope to see him back in action soon. The fans of the show are surely going to miss the chemistry between Ashutosh and Nidhi. Now with Ashutosh's exit one wonders what shape the story will take. Will Nidhi move ahead with Rohan or will we have a replacement? Time will only tell.

Monish Behl was earlier seen in Sanjeevani and its sequel Dill Mill Gayye playing the role of Dr. Shashank. Fans were very excited when they learnt about his return to TV with Kuch to Log Kahenge.
