This should be a perfect picture but sadly it is not, due to the darkness in his heart left behind by the death of a beloved who he does not wish to let go. It is said that time is a great healer. Time dims the pain, lessens the agony of losing someone dear, and dispels the darkness, letting in light to invade your empty heart and make it glow again with life and laughter. The match was struck the day Aarti entered his life. Unknowingly, slowly but steadily, during the innumerous times she steadfastly, lovingly, stood by him for his daughters and his family, she became the wick that would ultimately light up that desolate part of his heart.
Yash Scindhya doesn’t know it. He doesn’t see it…yet. Along with his heart he has closed his eyes and is content to live and relive his past with a woman who is no longer by his side. No wonder he cannot see past his pain. But is it time for him to let go? No one can answer that. It is his pain, and he is the one to find a way to deal with it. Letting go is easier said than done.
Arpita meant the world to him. Being an honourable man, it is easy to see why it is so hard for Yash to leave her behind and make a fresh life with Aarti. Arpita, was probably his first love, with whom he shared several of his ‘first’ moments with sharing his dreams, his hopes, his fears, and even his failures. Arpita is the one he committed to be with for the rest of his life. She was cruelly ripped away from him, leaving him behind to keep his promises alive, promises that he made to her.
Death is a deal-breaker. It is the harshest truth of finality God ever presented humanity with. It is also the hardest to come to terms with. But it is also true that when one door closes, another opens. Love is the purest of emotions a person can feel. It is but a tiny flame that has the potential to dispel an ocean of darkness.
Let us hope that Yash opens his eyes to look at the beautiful flame that has already lit his household and eventually finds it in himself to let in that light to bring back the lost love back into his life.
