The children between the age groupd of five to thirteen years were picked-up by the esteemed panel of Marzi Pestonji and Master Geeta Kapur. The duo mentored the children and the children’s excellent stage presence can be accredited to judges. The auditions were conducted around the country in major cities like Vadodara, Mumbai, Kolkata, Guwahati, Chandigarh, Delhi, Bhubaneshwar, Dehradun, Patna and Raipur and many more.
Some of the finalists are Babu Sangma (Meghalaya), Shalini Moitra (Ranchi), Padmini Patnaik (Bhubaneshwar), Om Chezty (Dispur), Bir Sherpa (Silchar), Arpita Dutta (Guwahati), Krishnakanta Singh (Imphal) and Pratistha Poudel (Nepal).
The judges were left mesmerized at the talent capital ‘Kolkata’ which is called the ‘land of kalakars’. The judges had to raise the minimum number of selection from 10 to 25 as the standards were real high. The children exhibited their talent in forms like classical, contemporary, hip-hop and many others. With little brushing of their talent and skills Marzi Pestonji managed to get the best of each kid.
Geeta Kapur also requested the parents to be patient and not pushy and let the child groom their talent. Parents should not make the kids overdo the things. There has been instances where parents where more devastated than the kids and there was need to counsel the parents and not the kids.
We still haven’t forgotten the winner of Season 1, Jeetumoni, who was later, flooded with the offers of stage show performances.
