Well, I've been dying to write this for ages now, and I think today is a good time to put down these thoughts. Dont worry I am not going to either philosophise or use too much jargon. I remember none from either school or college. I will just share how my experiences on these fan-forums over the years have actually helped me understand my surroundings and certain ground rules better. Now how often have we heard people crib, about the law, the system and dogmas people hold? We must have perhaps even have lost count, and the number of private jokes surrounding it make it even worse!
No more beating around the bush, but here is why I think Fan-Forums are the best place to study the birth of politics religion and law!
Lets presume we lived in Adam ka zamana where there were actually a good bunch of people- I said hypothetical so add a bunch here and think no more on logic! So these people got together to discuss that apple they saw on the tree. All of them loved the apple so much, that they wanted to preserve it for the rest of their lives! While one thought it couldnt be touched lest it might disappear, the other touched it and moved back. The last one hated the sight of it, but didnt want to share the same with others, hence stayed silent. Adam the ambitious one took the plunge and grabbed it and bit into it, and the world was never the same again!!!
If the story doesnt sound too fascinating to you, sit and ponder over how many times, you have watched a show, fallen in love with the actor to the extent that you have stopped living your own life, and have practically abandoned your family, friends and the baggage that you have carried along side you all these years? The new friends suddenly seem to understand you more, your telephone number resembling phone-bill could almost give you an eye sore! You think no one understands you, and you suddenly have found your mojo! You cant sleep at night, you feel only what you think is right, your office work piles up and your develop weird hang-ups!

And then one fine morning, one small discussion, on one silly scene on that very show breaks hell loose! You are shattered, heart broken and demoralised! Why? Because you dont seem to agree on the same thing anymore! Friends turn foes, and all good times are forgotten in a blink! Your survival becomes your basic purpose in life. While you want others to see why you are right, you also want to show the other, how wrong he/she is! At such a time, when you fall in line with the rest, you become a part of the democracy, and if you think someone is being too bossy, but cant do anything, its monarchy!
If you are a staunch believer in your thought and do not want to change it for your own good or destruction, it becomes your religion, and when you are flexible, you run the risk of being a traitor!
When someone then takes charge and shows you the path you agree with the person becomes the leader, and then following them because you think they couldnt be wrong gives birth to a law!!! The Dill Mill Gayye Forum where I was new, I enjoyed my total freedom, I would say everything I liked, and loved the fact that people agreed with me. The Geet forum on the other hand gave me stiff resistence at times, as there were always diverse opinions to that one same thing! By the time, I came onto the Is Pyar Ko Forum, I almost gave up on forum life, because I was pretty sure what would next follow!!
Having said, this, it is not for nothing, that our forefathers have laid out these rules of living for people around us, and its interesting to note how, it starts at the micro-level and goes onto to just magnify at the macro! We watch, we learn and then we adapt. Today I automatically know what I am supposed to say,how I am supposed to do it and what would offend someone. I am conditioned to a forum life. Why suddenly am I writing all this now? Well, we have set out to create our own forum now, where there will be loads of people who will come. I do not want to have ground rules. I do not want to start with donts. I want you all to read, observe, interact with one another and go through the process once more. You never know, this time the lessons may be different, the experiences would bring in another facet into our lives! So go ahead, enjoy your tour on our baby Portal and help it grow into the adult it chooses to be !!
I not know, if I managed to convey what I wanted to, but I do feel happy that I do understand, what I read, learnt and studied in school and college better now! I thank my interaction and association with various people accross the world over the last few years for the same! Life for sure has defnitely gotten better! Happy Rangmunching till we meet again!!!
Love,
Niharika Vidya Sagar
