To mark the late Singer, Jagjit Singh’s 71st birthday anniversary, the ‘Global Indian Music Academy’ (GIMA) has organized a concert named ‘Jagjit Singh -Yaadon Ka Safar’ on February 8th as a tribute to the legendary singer.
Most of us know Jagjit Singh primarily as a gazal singer, who won the prestigious ‘Padma Bhushan’ award. Not many know that he was also a great composer, activist, lyricist and a humanitarian.
He was famous for inspiring new talents and providing them opportunities. There will be many performances dedicated to the late maestro by some of the most well known names of the Indian music industry. Some of the names include Urdu poet Nida Fazli, lyricist Javed Akhtar and his better half and actor, Shabana Azmi, director Mahesh Bhatt, Ustad Rashid Khan, singer Suresh Wadkar, Gazal singer Ghulam Ali and actor Dia Mirza amongst many others.
Chitra Singh, the wife of late Jagjit Singh, said she along with her entire family looks forward to this concert, as she feels a deep sense of joy and pride..It will be a magical evening, so dont miss it !
