April fool will bring high dosage of laughter for viewers on SAB TV between 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. & will feature best of episodes featuring the iconic fools from SAB shows i.e. Gadda Prasad (Chidiyaghar) Bagha (Taarak) Mama (Lapataganj) and Gopi of FIR.

Mr. Anooj Kapoor, EVP & Business Head, SAB TV said that, “We have strong characterizations in all our shows and this April fool‘s day we are celebrating with the most endearing, most iconic fools’ -Gadda,mama,gopi and Bagha who, through their stupid and lovable quirks have brought smiles to millions of families across India.”
Hansi Ka Hungama with Gopi & Mama will showcase best episodes of all SAB TV shows interspersed with gags by anchors Gopi Bhalla & Anup Upadhyay from 10:30 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. Apart from the best episodes of Gopi, Mama, Gadda & Bagha, it will run interstitials of these characters wishing the audiences a happy fools’ day in their inimitable style.

On digital front facebook pages of these shows have characters wishing April Fools’ Day through greeting cards. The fans can send April fool’s day wishes to their near and dear ones by tagging and sharing these e-cards.

Princess ‘Nimrit Kaur Sodhi’ came dressed as Sri Devi of ‘Chandni’ while ‘Agam’ came dressed as Hritik Roshan in ‘Krrish’. Other actors too, of the show came dressed as various bollywood stars. Kido came as ‘Circuit’ of the movie ‘Munnabhai MBBS’ and Sunita chose to be Devdas’s ‘Paro’. Guess what Lalwani himself came as? He chose to redo a ‘Gabbar Singh’ but in a neater avatar, in  shirt and golden trousers.

Amrit Manthan is a show whose story revolves around a royal family of Punjab. The two sisters ‘Amrit’ and ‘Nimrit’ and the clash of their ideologies. While ‘Amrit’ is hardcore practical, ‘Nimrit’ is emotional and believes in true fairytale love and romance.

The purpose of 'the Great Gig in the Sky,' is to bring together music and nature lovers like never before, taking off into the wilderness and pursuing their passions collectively as a group be it photographers, nature activists and musicians.

Musicians by performing in the open spaces can attract a small group of locals or tourists. The man behind the concept of this ’big idea’ is Ryan Thomas. An impressive number of musicians have agreed to be a part of the show comprising of 13 escapades. 

The show will be premiered on March 30, 2012 making it even more memorable with the inclusion of Kailash Kher performing his popular numbers. Upcoming artists will be provided with a good platform of showcasing their talent by the ‘Great Gig in the Sky’ even supporting and promoting indie rock music and talents. The timing of the show is 9.00 p.m.

It is all excitement for the entire colony of the SAB TV popular soap, ‘RK Laxman Ki Duniya’, where the Vasavada family resides, as they plan to set out on a vacation tour to Matheran.

Enthusiasm for the simple and middle-class colony members, which includes Ambika and Pawan, the couple who tied the knot recently, knows no bounds, until unfortunate happenings like the agents’ disappearance and the bus’ failure to reach brings in much concern among all.

However, Atul Parchure, who plays the favourite Bhavesh in the serial, restores smiles by arranging for a bus to fit in all. Anxieties, however, fail to cease completely, as they are informed that if they fail to check into their hotel by 12pm, their reservations will no longer hold valid.

However, like every other trip, the suspense, thrill and fun in this cannot be denied, as put forward by Vandana Pathak aka Bhavana, who plays Bhavesh’s wife in the show. She is also greatly impressed by Matheran’s beauty and says, it is “breath-takingly beautiful”.

The Hyderabadi Hindi complimented by foreign returned english only made this movie with hoardings across Khairatabad flyover even more a reason why I wanted to see what the movie was all about . But since I was 12 and the movie had a kissing scene my mother and father left me behind when they went to watch the movie. But I did manage to catch it, in a printed cassette with bad print and totally loved the movie much later.

I have followed Nagesh Kukunoor and his work ever since and think he one of the very few film makers that goes into finest of detailing when it comes to his characters or emotions in the story. None of his stories are ever glamourised so to speak. They are real and relateable.

With a series of movies after that like Dor, Tasveer, Iqbaal, Rockford (another super favourite that I have watched thousands of times), Bollywood Calling, Teen Deewarien, the one that I saw last was Ashayein, and the songs of the movie turn up out of turn on my I-Pod more often than not forcing me stay connected with them. Chala Aya Pyar ki my favourite, and der lagi lekin brings tears to my eyes each time I hear it.

I havent had a chance to watch Mod, but I soon will.

Today is Nagesh Kukonoor's Birthday! He is mana Telugu Ayana, and I smile each time I think of this. Wish You a Very Very Happy Birthday Nagesh and we at Rangmunch hope the years that come will comprise of movies that will keep us enthralled in all ways!

Shows So Far: Lucky, Jai Ma Durga, Shh Koi Hai,  Miley Jab Hum Tum , Geet Hui Sabse Parayi, Ammaji ki Galli, Iss Pyar Ko Kya Naam Doon, Humse Hai Liife, Suvreen Guggal-Topper of the Year.

Favourite Cinematographer:  Barun Da (Mukherjee) and my Brother(Hrishikesh Gandhi).  They always appear cool and composed, but when it comes to their work both of them put in 110%.

Favourite Scene: (smiles) Aisa kuch nahi hai. I have never given it a thought. Recently I shot for a scene in Iss Pyar Ko Kya Naam Doon. It was a night scene where Arnav breaks down. I thought it came out really well… We had to create the effect of fire, and we had used coal and the smoke was continuously going into our eyes but we had to keep shooting. It was hard but when we saw the way it finally came out, I think that’s our reward. I start working only once I am on the field so it becomes hard to tell which one I like the most since a scene that comes out well, automatically becomes a favourite.

The Mentoring:  I  came into this industry by default. I was actually a sportsman; a professional athlete who was supposed to attend the Asian games. However, when I realised that it would not fetch me a job on its own merit, my brother suggested, I try my hand at Cinematography .Both my brother Hrishikesh Gandhi and I have worked with Barun Mukherjee. He is an institute in himself. Whatever we have learnt , we have learnt from him.  I feel really fortunate to have been associated with Barun da. His Assistant Vasant Jadhav is also a name I must mention to thank as I think of the time when I started off. I was exposed to a lot of training as an assistant. They made sure no goof ups happened.

If you ask me, what we learnt working with Barun da, is something no professional institute or books would be able to teach you. He had eye for finesse and perfection. He would tell us you should never give a watcher the opportunity to pin-point a flaw in what you are capturing. Today’s technicians or assistants I feel don’t get that kind of exposure to learn things that way.  One gets very limited options as a cinematographer in a daily soap as we have fixed sets and deadlines to meet. Whatever you can bring out within that framework is what makes you different from others. I feel photography in this industry should be done keeping the view point of the audience in mind. You should be able to make people happy with your photography. It should be eye pleasing not eye pointing.

Favorite Director Pairing: Rajesh Shetty & Naresh Malhotra. ( Basera) were nice to work with and their  approach and working technique was different from the rest I have seen. I have worked with Gorky and Nissar. In the recent past I have worked a lot with Maan Singh, Lalit Mohan, Arshad Khan and Ravi Bhushan too so it is extremely hard to pick one.

Friend-Philospher-Guide: Would be my wife who has always supported me no matter what I do.

Shows you watch: I don’t watch Television shows. I love to watch channels like TLC or travel shows usually. That’s what I want to pursue in future professionally. Wild life and nature is what attract me. I look for variety and challenges all the time. I should hopefully be doing that some day.

Athelete or Cinematographer: Athelete, provided I get paid (says laughingly).

On Suvreen Guggal: Is my latest  show on Channel V. It is always nice to shoot Youth Shows and thats the reason why I am associated with this project.
