She said that she had to succumb to the director in cinema. However, she did admit that she improvised once in a while if the director accepted her decision. She said one of the reasons for the shortage of good writers for stage was that most of them wanted to go to television or films.
Lillete is a member of the Indian Competition jury who began her career in cinema with ‘Zubeida’ by Shyam Benegal. She is a very prominent face in Bollywood and has several movies to her credit, some of which have been huge box office success namely Baghban, Kal Ho Na Ho, Gadar Ek Prem Katha, Chalte Chalte, Lakshya and Fanaa.
