Rangmunch: How do you know it is love and not lust?
Kunal: You never know. (Softly adds) Actually, there are times when you know. Ahh..but if its lust you really do know but I think, it will be beautiful if the lust turns to love eventually.
Rangmunch: What do you think of friends becoming lovers?
Kunal: Never happened with me so I don’t know. But I think it’s a beautiful thing if that really happens. I mean if those friends are really comfortable getting into it without forgetting or rather if they can forget how they were when they were friends and if they can get over the whole friendliness.
Rangmunch: Do you think after you become lovers you can switch back to being friends?
Kunal: If you manage to do that, well hats off to you.
Rangmunch: Do you think Valentine Day is over rated?
Kunal: (Without missing a beat) Definitely! I think expectations run really high on Valentine’s Day and people eventually end up fighting, which was the case most of the time in my relationships. Yeah, infact even on Valentine Day I am used to having dinners alone and going to Cafés and sitting with a book. I like observing people. I think on 14th Feb I have seen lot of people fight.
Rangmunch: Are you commitment phobic?
Kunal: Hmmmm….not at all.
Rangmunch: How do you define commitment phobia?
Kunal: When you really don’t want another person to invade your space, your solitude. Aahh.. I guess that’s what it would mean to me.
Rangmunch: Why is it that it is a common phenomena in tv industry, people prefer to stay single?
Kunal: I think it is a personal choice; I wouldn’t really call it a phenomena. If you are comfortable getting into a relationship and committing, well..good for you!
Rangmunch: This is a hypothetical situation. You are in a restaurant with your girlfriend and two of your ex-girlfriends walk in. What would you do?
Kunal: I would have all of them sit on one table and get them drunk. (Realizes what he said, laughs, and quickly corrects) Not really get them drunk…well am quite comfortable and honestly if am ever in a relationship again I would like my partner to be comfortable with the fact that you know… I have been with people before.
RM: What would you do if your best friend did not approve of your partner?
Kunal: Hmmm….that would be a cause for worry. But, I think I would eventually convince my friend if I really like the girl.
Rangmunch: How important is it to say ‘I love you’ in a relationship?
Kunal: Not at all.
